GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Operating Room Surgical Technologist is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, providing instruments, equipment, and supplies to the surgeon and surgical team as required.
They must assess and anticipate the needs of both the patient and the surgeon, ensuring timely provision of necessary items, assisting with medication preparation alongside the RN, performing counts of essential items with the RN, and managing specimen care with the RN, as well as selecting appropriate dressing applications.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
A high school diploma or GED is required. Completion of an accredited surgical technician program is mandatory.
CST Certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first year of employment. Current BLS Certification is also required.

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of six (6) months of experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred.
