Pharmacy Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Wegmans. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process prescription requests and build trusted customer relationships
  • Troubleshoot rejected insurance claims and address issues to achieve the best outcome for customers
  • Follow department processes and procedures to input information, dispense medication, and verify information
  • Ensure the department is running smoothly by assisting with tasks, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and rotating and stocking drugs and other supplies
  • Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs, and follow sanitation practices
Requirements:
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations in order to perform data entry and fill prescriptions without error
  • State specific may require Pharmacy Technician certification
  • New Jersey applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience ordering products and controlling inventory
  • Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification
