Key Responsibilities- Manage Maintenance Personnel: Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of power generation facilities.
- Develop and Implement Maintenance Programs: Create and implement maintenance programs to ensure the longevity of equipment and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate Capital and Operating Budgets: Prepare and manage capital and operating budgets for maintenance operations, ensuring that expenditures are within budget and aligned with company policies.
- Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage Contractors and Vendors: Direct and monitor the performance of contractors and vendors, ensuring that work is completed to the required standard.
- Develop and Implement Training Programs: Create and implement training programs to ensure that maintenance personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Monitor and Evaluate Maintenance Performance: Regularly monitor and evaluate maintenance performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred.
- Experience: Twelve (12) years of progressively responsible power plant maintenance experience, including four (4) years of supervisory, management, or leadership responsibilities.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong ability to work in a team environment; effective manager of personnel; ability to extract, comprehend, and develop instructions from technical manuals and other job-related materials; and ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license that meets the insurance eligibility requirements under Oglethorpe Power's qualification program.
- Travel: 15% of the time.
- Unusual Hours: This position will require the associate to be on call at any hour to address emergency conditions at the plants, or operational and maintenance problems.
