Job Title: Speech Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at Regency Integrated Health Services. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in helping patients recover from communication and swallowing disorders.

Job Summary:

The Speech Therapist will conduct assessments and reassessments of patients' communication and swallowing disorders, develop and implement individualized therapeutic programs, and collaborate with the Rehab Director to ensure integration of the therapeutic program in the plan of care.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments and reassessments of patients' communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized therapeutic programs to restore and/or improve communicative activities of daily living and treat swallowing disorders
  • Collaborate with the Rehab Director to ensure integration of the therapeutic program in the plan of care
  • Guide and teach patients in techniques, exercises, or precautions designed to improve their ability to swallow and communicate
  • Observe, record, and report patients' reactions to treatment and any changes in their condition or treatment
  • Document the extent of patients' involvement in the decision affecting their care
  • Instruct other agency personnel and patients' family members in activities of speech therapy in which they may safely and effectively assist the patient
  • Participate in patient case conferences to coordinate the patient's plan of care and promote positive therapeutic outcome
  • Participate in continuous assessment and evaluation of the agency via Quarterly Record Review, or the quality Assurance/ Improvement Program
  • Follow state guidelines and maintain appropriate documentation when supervising an Assistant in speech
  • Maintain code of ethics set by the American Speech Language Hearing Association
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) from a University program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association
  • Current licensed by the state of Texas to practice as a Speech-Language-Pathologist
  • Has been granted a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech Language Hearing Association
  • One (1) year experience in Speech Language Pathology in a home health setting preferred
Work Environment:

The Speech Therapist will work in a home health setting, traveling to patients' homes to provide therapy services. The ideal candidate will have a car with current insurance coverage and a state driver's license.

The Speech Therapist will be required to adapt to client status and needs as directed, and may be required to work overtime to meet the needs of patients.

The Speech Therapist will be exposed to possible infections from clients, auto accidents, and unsafe neighborhoods.
