Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in hiking activities with dogs, both individually and in groups, along scenic local trails, while facilitating group play experiences.
  • Conduct dog walking services in clients' neighborhoods, with the possibility of transporting dogs to various hiking locations.
  • Provide comprehensive pet-sitting, boarding, and house-sitting services for both dogs and cats.
  • Work hours typically span from 10 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional opportunities available during evenings and holidays.
  • Service areas include various neighborhoods, ensuring a manageable workload without the expectation of covering all locations.
Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $15 to $22.50, with 100% of client gratuities going to the employee. Initial pay starts at $15 to $17.50 per hour, with scheduled performance evaluations and potential pay increases.
  • Mileage reimbursement provided.

  • Paid training includes certifications in Pet CPR and Pet First Aid.
  • Additional training focused on understanding animal behavior.
Expectations:
  • Establish a safe and enjoyable walking environment for clients' dogs.
  • Be prepared to work with dogs in both individual and group settings within natural surroundings.
  • Adhere to client-specific care instructions, including training preferences.
  • Deliver attentive care for clients' cats.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our ongoing community members.
  • Utilize a dedicated app for communication with staff via a modern smartphone.
  • Practice effective time management to ensure punctuality for all scheduled visits.
  • Driving is a component of this role, including the transportation of multiple dogs.

  • All staff must embrace our philosophy of dog handling, emphasizing positive reinforcement and fear-free techniques.
  • Team players are essential, as collaboration is key to providing care, socialization, and enrichment for dogs and cats with kindness and humor.
  • We seek individuals who are energetic, motivated, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Independence is encouraged, and enjoyment in outdoor settings is a must.
  • Previous experience in dog walking, doggy daycare, grooming, or volunteering at shelters is preferred, though a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are equally valued.
  • Availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays is a plus.
