A Society Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled Networking Automation Specialist to join our team.

Job Overview

This is a full-time position based in Foster City, requiring 5 days of on-site work per week.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to develop and document test automation software for our communication networks using Python command line tools. The ideal candidate will work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, and Systems engineers to develop module, system, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.

  • Setup and run Ethernet tests.
  • Develop scripts, libraries, and tools to run tests on networking firmware and hardware.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and project managers to plan and execute test campaigns.
  • Document software to make it easily accessible to others within and outside the team.
Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • At least 5 years of experience in networking or equivalent.
  • Experience testing TCP/IP using Python or C/C++.
  • Knowledge of network traffic generators (e.g., IXIA, XENA, or SPIRENT).
  • Familiarity with protocols such as PTP/ARP/ICMP/SNMP/TFTP/SCP/SSH/RSTP.
  • Understanding of routing, switching, IP addressing, subnetting, and network security in Linux.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health care, life insurance, paid time off, training & development opportunities, and a retirement plan.

Bonus qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with basic mechanical, electrical, and optical test procedures.
  • Experience working with CAN networks.
  • Knowledge of emerging ethernet technologies.
  • Experience using test automation frameworks and object-oriented programming in Python.
  • Experience with Jira, Bamboo, CI/CD, and test driven development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
