The Kensington Algonquin, part of Agemark Senior Living Communities, is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of our facilities, including buildings, fixtures, and grounds, while adhering to a structured maintenance schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all aspects of facility maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and document completed work as necessary.
  • Communicate maintenance issues to the Director and provide recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
  • Manage maintenance operations within the allocated budget and seek approval for special purchases.
  • Assist in setting annual maintenance goals and conduct quarterly assessments.
  • Ensure safe and organized storage of chemicals, tools, and supplies.
  • Prepare vacated suites for new residents by coordinating necessary cleaning and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records related to inventory, inspections, and equipment.
  • Participate in regular safety inspections and assist contractors during maintenance activities.
  • Support resident move-ins and move-outs, including transportation coordination.
  • Stay informed about building codes, safety regulations, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Work flexible hours based on community needs, including potential weekend shifts.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff while promoting a welcoming environment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols when addressing cleaning needs for accidents.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident and community information.
  • Engage in community events and respond to emergencies as required.

Qualifications:

At least one year of supervisory experience in a maintenance or general contracting role is required. Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members.
