About the Role
We are seeking a skilled PreOp PACU Nurse PRN to join our team at Surgicenter of Johnson County. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our ambulatory surgery center.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough physical and psychological assessments, reviewing medical histories, and administering pre-operative medications as prescribed.
- Ensure the availability of necessary equipment and supplies for each procedure, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, respond to emergencies, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Conduct post-operative care, including wound care, dressing changes, and pain management, to ensure patients' comfort and well-being.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
- 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery
- Active RN license as required by state of employment
- BCLS Certification upon employment. online certification not acceptable
- ACLS required within 30-days of hire
- PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
