The Role

We are seeking a skilled Design Technician to join our Roadway team. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of established methods, practices, and programs to prepare engineering and design plans. You will work closely with technical staff to find the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.

Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with standard computer-aided design operations, including advanced plan production, plan sheet creation, and entry-level design principles under moderate direction and supervision.
  • Receiving instruction on project objectives, advanced features, and possible solutions.
  • Performing engineering support tasks such as gathering data, updating and maintaining computer files, preparing copies of drawings, and documenting design changes.

You may be required to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on project sites in various stages of construction.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • The ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • An associate degree in a related field, preferably.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Microstation (or related CAD software), preferably.
  • Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
