About the RoleARUP Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Cytogeneticist to join our team. As a key member of our medical community, you will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting laboratory and clinical data to provide accurate and informative reports.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize and interpret laboratory and clinical data to review and report daily
- Chromosomes and FISH analysis, including neoplastic, solid tumor, and constitutional karyotype and FISH analysis
- Genomic microarrays, including review of CNVs and plots, literature research, and report writing
- Serve as a consultant to clinical practitioners and other laboratory users
- Ensure laboratory test data is accurate, timely, and informative
- Participate in Quarterly Mandatory Education and provide continuing medical education for laboratory staff, residents, and students
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement activities, including routine laboratory indicator review, competencies, and applicable Proficiency Testing surveys
- MD licensed to practice medicine in the State in which the individual is located, and/or PhD in Clinical Laboratory Sciences
- Formal training in pathology, laboratory medicine, or both; or an applicable clinical medical specialty
- ABMGG Clinical Cytogenetics and/or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Board eligibility or certification and hold or be eligible for a NYS license
