Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Manager to lead our rural broadband initiatives in Coconino County. The successful candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and information technology, with experience in managing complex projects and developing strategic plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships with Internet Service Providers, state and local agencies, and other business partners to promote broadband in identified unserved/underserved areas.
  • Support the County in all stages of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) process, including assistance with letters of intent, requests for initial planning funds, and development of the five-year plan.
  • Lead and participate in local and statewide broadband committees to track and report on progress of collaborations and projects impacting Coconino County.
  • Plan, implement, administer, and evaluate programs related to broadband services, including developing a Coconino County Digital Equity Strategic Plan.
  • Identify and pursue grants to further promote high-speed internet access.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, management information systems, or a closely related field, and four years of progressively responsible work experience in systems administration, database administration, and/or networking, including voice and data telecommunications.
  • At least two years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of the telecommunications and information technology industries, including broadband and funding programs.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
