About the Position

As a Registered Nurse for Maricopa County Correctional Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing medically necessary, evidence-based integrated healthcare to patients within the judicial system.

Responsibilities include responding to medical needs, providing necessary continuity of care, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions
  • Perform standard nursing procedures appropriate to patient needs
  • Complete and process all required documentation, including plans and discharge planning, in a comprehensive, objective, and legible manner
  • Provide health-related education to patients as appropriate to patient needs
  • Perform basic intravenous and phlebotomy skills
  • Participate in orientation and training of new employees, contract staff, students, and others

Requirements

  • Valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state
  • Two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Surgical, ER, Urgent Care, or Psychiatric setting
  • Ability to get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney that may weigh up to 35 pounds
