Culinary Specialist at The Citadel of Bourbonnais
The Citadel of Bourbonnais is currently in search of a Culinary Specialist to enhance our dining services. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare and deliver meals for residents, adhering to established food safety and handling protocols to ensure that all meals meet the required nutritional standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and understand menus prior to food preparation.
- Inspect special dietary trays to ensure accuracy in serving the correct diets to residents.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submit them to the Food Services Director.
- Coordinate meal service with other departments as needed.
- Collaborate with the culinary director to implement recommended changes.
- Ensure compliance with all dietary procedures according to established policies.
- Maintain and file menus in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Assist in the establishment of food service production lines to ensure timely meal preparation.
- Process dietary changes and new diets as communicated by the Dietician or Food Services Director.
- Foster positive working relationships with inter-departmental personnel to ensure effective food service delivery.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- COVID Vaccination is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of cooking experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative spirit are necessary.
- Ability to prepare a variety of foods in large quantities.
- Physical capability to lift and move at least fifty (50) pounds and to push or pull such weight over a distance of twelve (12) feet.
