The Metal Fabrication Specialist will operate machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches to cut and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and be able to meet production quotas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate fabrication shop and machine shop machinery and equipment.
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
  • Observe machine operation to detect part defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measure parts dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from parts.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
  • Verify conformance of finished part to specifications.
  • Follow company safety procedures and embrace culture of safety within the machine shop.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years experience operating machine shop equipment.
  • Basic knowledge in math and decimal places.
  • Knowledge in usage of gages, calipers, measuring tools, and clean sharp edges.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production quotas.
