Position Overview:

As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering diagnostic imaging services within a healthcare environment, while also performing necessary administrative tasks. Your role will be executed in alignment with the core values and mission of Kaiser Permanente.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced radiographic technology. This includes performing routine, emergency, portable, surgical, and fluoroscopic examinations, adhering to established departmental protocols.
  • Managing image processing and effectively utilizing the current Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Collaborate with radiologists for film quality assurance and exam clarification as needed. Perform ECGs when required.
  • Handling patient transport, filing, and inventory management. Responsible for patient registration and scheduling appointments.
  • Participating in an on-call or standby rotation as necessary. Additional duties may be assigned.

Education
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is mandatory.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Must possess a Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) or Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon).
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within one month of hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required at the time of hire.
Additional Skills:
  • Proficient in the daily operation of diagnostic imaging equipment and healthcare information systems.
  • Exemplifies customer service excellence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with all team members.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures for fluoroscopy, DXA, surgical, portable, and routine imaging.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in performing general radiographic examinations using digital technology within the last three years.
  • Strong organizational skills, including time management, prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to policies and procedures while demonstrating flexibility.
  • Familiarity with McKesson PACS and EPIC electronic medical records systems.
  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Science or a related field is advantageous.
Work Environment:
