Job Summary

The Cashier is a key member of our retail team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless transactions at our checkout counters. Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Project a positive image of Westlake Ace Hardware to customers and colleagues.
    • Greet customers warmly and thank them by name when possible.
    • Provide assistance with store layout and product location.
    • Answer customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Register Operations
    • Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
    • Balance register drawers and maintain a high level of accuracy.
    • Participate in store meetings and contribute to the success of our retail team.
  • Front End Appearance and Upkeep
    • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
    • Assist with stocking and facing merchandise.
    • Ensure forms and supplies are readily available.
    • Participate in decorating the front end according to company standards.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Cashier experience preferred, with a strong background in customer service.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Compensation and Benefits
