Primary Responsibilities

  • Development and Oversight of Safety Programs:
    • Formulate, execute, and sustain extensive safety initiatives aimed at preventing workplace accidents and health issues.
    • Conduct systematic safety evaluations and inspections to pinpoint risks and ensure adherence to safety laws.
    • Lead investigations into incidents to ascertain root causes and apply corrective measures.
    • Manage compliance with local regulations governing multiple facilities.
  • Environmental Compliance Management:
    • Guarantee conformity with all environmental laws, encompassing waste management, emissions, and chemical handling.
    • Devise and enforce environmental policies and procedures to reduce ecological impact.

    • Prepare and submit mandatory reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

    • Adopt best practices and innovative technologies to enhance safety and environmental results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as an EHS Engineer or in a comparable role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Strong analytical skills and capability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in EHS management software and tools.
  • Preferred certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, CIH).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with environmental sustainability initiatives and programs.

Working Environment

  • This position necessitates regular presence on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary to support off-site projects or training.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies outside of standard working hours.
