Primary Responsibilities:
The primary role of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is to deliver both direct and indirect resident-centered care to individuals residing at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.

Key Duties Include:
  • Embodying the values, mission, and philosophy of Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center.
  • Assisting in the implementation of care plans, which encompass grooming, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, and toileting.
  • Ensuring privacy during personal care activities.
  • Providing physical comfort by aiding residents with daily living activities.
  • Offering mental, emotional, and physical support as per care plans.
  • Upholding dignity and respect for all residents.
  • Encouraging residents to maintain their independence.
  • Responding promptly to call bells.
  • Assisting with meals and providing feeding support as necessary.
  • Documenting all care provided accurately.
  • Implementing pressure ulcer prevention measures.

Vital Sign Monitoring:
Perform basic vital sign assessments, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.

Mobility Assistance:
Support residents with ambulation or mobility needs using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.

Environmental Maintenance:
Regularly clean and maintain equipment and work areas.

Communication:
Maintain awareness of changes in residents' conditions and report any abnormalities to the charge nurse while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Completion of an approved Nurse Aid program and possession of a current Colorado CNA license.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across various departments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and resource allocation abilities.
  • Commitment to learning and performing all required duties.
  • Ability to interact courteously with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Understanding and following verbal and written instructions.
  • Adherence to safety protocols to protect residents and staff.

Equipment Utilization:
Familiarity with patient care equipment such as lifts, wheelchairs, and monitoring devices is essential.

Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds and lifting up to 50 pounds independently. The role involves significant walking, standing, and bending throughout the shift.

Work Environment:
Employees will work in a dynamic clinical setting with exposure to various conditions, including bloodborne pathogens and mechanical equipment.
