Position SummaryThe Component Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling parts for KHS USA machines by adhering to engineering schematics, written guidelines, and verbal directives.
Key Responsibilities:- Receives and organizes the parts kit for assembly; reviews assembly manuals that encompass drawings and bills of materials; prepares parts and materials in accordance with sales order specifications.
- Inspects and readies components; this may involve smoothing edges or ensuring a precise fit between parts.
- Utilizes hand tools to drill, tap, or ream holes in metal components.
- Aligns and secures components using bolts, screws, or various hardware.
- Employs fixtures to assemble basic assemblies.
- Conducts assembly inspections under the guidance of a lead assembler.
- Tests or assists in the testing of the functionality of the finished product.
- High school diploma or equivalent; six months of experience in a machine shop or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Possesses mechanical and technical skills to construct assemblies precisely according to engineering specifications within the designated production timeframe.
- Exhibits safe handling of hand tools and other manufacturing equipment.
- Demonstrates good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
