Job Overview

This is a full-time position focused on software development.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Junior Software Engineer is responsible for collaborating with a team to provide technical assistance in the development of computer applications. This role involves overseeing and evaluating the work of peers to ensure adherence to established methodologies and technical standards. The engineer will create, enhance, and sustain intricate software solutions. Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, formulating mathematical models, developing suitable computational algorithms, and drafting design specifications for software applications. The role also encompasses establishing operational protocols for computer systems, diagnosing processing irregularities, and implementing corrective measures. Additionally, the engineer will prepare and review technical documentation and assist management in clarifying system requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Agile teams in the high-level design, integration, and validation of software components.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of software solutions.
  • Engage in periodic large-scale Agile planning sessions.
  • Participate in standard Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct that encourages teamwork, cooperation, and productivity in the workplace. Must be organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals across all organizational levels.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in programming languages, tools, and environments for developing software solutions.
  • Familiarity with Java, C++, Eclipse/IntelliJ IDEs, JUnit, etc.
  • Experience with Agile Development practices.
  • Knowledge of Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration methodologies is preferred.
  • Development experience in Java, J2EE, C, C++, Fortran.
  • Exposure to WebLogic, JBOSS, Mule, Spring, Oracle, NASA WorldWind, Protogate, IBM MQ, JMS, VMWare, Linux, web services development, and various IDEs is advantageous.
  • Experience with Agile Development frameworks and tools such as the Atlassian Suite (BitBucket, Git, JIRA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration practices.
  • Preferred skills include Angular, Docker, Kubernetes, Containerization, Cloud computing, WorldWind, and Cesium.

EXPERIENCE: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret clearance is preferred.

EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
