Senior Staff Aeronautical Engineer

Northrop Grumman, a pioneer in technological advancements, is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Aeronautical Engineer to join our team. This role will be based in Melbourne, FL, and will involve working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment to develop primary and secondary metal and composite aircraft structure parts and assemblies.
Salary InformationThe estimated annual salary for this position is $173,100-$253,850. Employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives, as well as benefits such as health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, and paid time off.
Job DescriptionAs a Senior Staff Aeronautical Engineer, you will lead design and trade study efforts, mentor less experienced engineers, and develop advanced design solutions to complex technical problems. You will work with structural analysis, manufacturing, materials and processes, and other stakeholders to produce flight weight structures.
- Design primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using metallic and/or composite materials for new aircraft design and/or modifications to existing aircraft
- Collaborate with stakeholders to produce flight weight structures and employ GD&T and Model Based Engineering methods to create airframe layouts and produce engineering definitions
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 14 years of related engineering experience; OR Master of Science (MS) degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR Ph.D. in a relevant STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience
- Experience designing primary and secondary composite aircraft parts/components, assemblies, and installations
- Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time
