Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Hardin Medical Center. As a key member of our medical records department, you will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, security, and physical safety of patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to payer requests for patient records, retrieving and transmitting them appropriately.
  • Document releases and communications in the electronic health record and/or tracking system.
  • Review medical records for compliance with approved policies.
  • Perform other clerical tasks as needed, such as answering phones, faxing, and scanning documents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
  • Previous file clerk and/or medical records clerk experience preferred.
Working Conditions

This role operates in a professional office environment and requires occasional lifting or moving of office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
