Job Overview:

The EMT Educator is a key member of the RWJ New Brunswick team, responsible for supporting, coordinating, and conducting Emergency Medical Technician initial, renewal, and continuing education classes that meet N.J.A.C. 8:40A guidelines. This role will support classes held at RWJ New Brunswick campuses or sponsored offsite locations, ensuring that program content and instructional programs comply with established standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Support and coordinate EMT education classes, ensuring compliance with N.J.A.C. 8:40A guidelines.
  • Provide oversight to assure that program content and instructional programs meet established standards and guidelines.
  • Report directly to the EMT Program Manager, maintaining open communication and collaboration.
  • Model expected behaviors, engaging staff with professionalism, courtesy, and respect, and supporting daily operations of education programs within the Training Center.
Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • NJ EMT Instructor Certification.
  • AHA BLS Provider CPR Instructor.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • NJ EMT Instructor Certification.
  • AHA BLS Provider CPR Instructor.
Scheduling Requirements:
  • Part-Time, Days.
  • 20 hours per week.
Essential Functions:
  • Arrive on time to scheduled classes as listed on the electronic scheduling system.
  • Prepare training equipment and classroom prior to the scheduled start time of class.
  • Maintain a positive affective presence while conducting educational programs to outside customers, employees, and co-workers.
  • Conduct all programs to the accrediting agency's standards.
  • Complete course paperwork at the conclusion of class and submit rosters electronically prior to the completion of the workday.
  • Maintain all training equipment and complete any daily reports or department checklist as outlined by the Director.
  • Teach and monitor new and renewing instructors, if designated a Training Center Faculty Member by the TCC.
  • Provide constructive feedback while maintaining a positive affective presence.
  • Assist at EMT programs, nursing competencies, mock codes, high school health programs, school mock codes, hands-only CPR events, health fairs, and/or other community or system events.
