VitalCore Health Strategies, a leading provider of correctional healthcare services, is seeking a highly skilled Statewide Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Regional Juvenile Detention Center sites in Florida.
Key Responsibilities- Provide primary and specialty healthcare services to inmates/patients in a correctional environment.
- Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
- Identify and address inmate/patient health problems, prescribing treatment under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Implement medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a physician.
- Provide education to inmates/patients, healthcare staff, and correctional personnel.
- Document all healthcare contacts and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to safety and security policies, participating in disaster drills and following security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
- Assign tasks to team members as needed and adhere to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Graduate of an accredited college/university with current certification/licensure as an APRN in the state of employment.
- Hold the required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for mid-level provider credentials.
- Maintain an active CPR certification.
