As a Maternity Care Travel Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to deliver thorough care and support to women throughout the stages of childbirth. Your role will encompass monitoring patients during labor, managing contractions, assessing dilation progress, assisting medical professionals during procedures, and providing immediate care to infants.
Key responsibilities of a Maternity Care Travel Nurse include:
- Ongoing patient monitoring throughout the labor process.
- Providing assistance with breathing techniques and contraction management.
- Regularly assessing cervical dilation.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the delivery area.
- Supporting physicians with necessary equipment and instruments.
- Delivering immediate care to newborns.
Candidates should be capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting weights up to 20 pounds. Physical demands may occasionally necessitate lifting up to 50 pounds. Additionally, Maternity Care RNs must exhibit strong stress management abilities and possess effective communication skills to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP certification, and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
*Additional certifications may be required prior to the start of the assignment.
