Job SummaryThe Pediatric Care Specialist will assist patients with personal care, perform basic nursing skills, and provide administrative support to promote patient health and wellness. This is a fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills, compassion, and patient-first mentality.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living
- Perform basic nursing skills as delegated by a Registered Nurse
- Provide a safe environment and safe delivery of care
- Perform administrative support functions
- Maintain necessary skills and competencies
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- No experience required, but previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification
- Must be certified to practice as a Nurse Aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia or meet one of the following criteria:
- Successful completion of the UVa PCT Education Program
- Documented proof of at least 1 year of recent experience in a similar PCT role from an outside institution
- Passage of a nationally recognized and accredited PCT Certification exam
This role requires frequent bending, stooping, and driving. You will need to be able to lift, push, and pull 20-50lbs and over 100lbs. You may be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
