Job Summary:

Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled PSG Technician to join our team in Honolulu, HI. As a PSG Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication, and proper maintenance on assigned PSG equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations, and maintenance manuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine, preventive, and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication, and proper maintenance on assigned PSG equipment.
  • Observe PSG system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
  • Respond to PSG malfunctions, completing repairs as assigned, using electronic test equipment and other specialized tools as required.
  • Complete assigned operational, equipment failure, safety, and other reports as required.
  • Participate in training programs as required.
  • Comply with Safety Rules, Operating Rulebook, and first-aid procedures.
  • The role requires flexibility and efficiency, including shift rotation, weekends, and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems.
  • The role requires working close proximity to the third rail frequently, requesting Red Tag, LOTOs, and hot stick application.
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • Ensure the execution of assigned maintenance reports and inspection tasks.
  • Ensure recording and documenting maintenance and diagnostic data.
  • Support in performing substation fault diagnosis, inspection, testing, modification, maintenance, and repair.
  • Maintain and produce accurate maintenance records, equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ensure that the corrective and preventative maintenance tasks are executed in compliance with the company safety policy and local regulations.
  • Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
  • Ensure the maintenance tools and equipment are calibrated and in good condition.
  • Ensure the execution of simple failure analysis and technical investigation.
  • Perform additional job duties on unrelated systems, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controlled systems, in accordance with training and qualifications.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in electronic equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to attain knowledge of, the safety rules regarding lock-out protection while working on the line and the rules governing the protection of traffic.
  • Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Rulebook, etc., and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of PSG system.
