Key Responsibilities
  • Field Operations: Engage in the observation, testing, and sampling of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, and concrete at various project sites; perform tasks in accordance with project specifications under the supervision of experienced technicians and project leaders.
  • Testing Protocols: Execute routine field and laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete utilizing diverse methodologies and testing apparatus while adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Data Management: Conduct calculations and data analysis based on sampling and test outcomes; assist with drafting and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain daily interactions with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; report any changes in site conditions and additional testing requests to your supervisor; participate in project meetings as required; help organize field equipment and inform supervisors of any equipment issues.
  • Training and Growth: Receive training in ECS methodologies for project observations, inspections, and testing; accurately document findings in line with established engineering practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications
  • No prior experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Willingness to learn about heavy construction safety practices and procedures.
  • Desire to acquire knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be necessary.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, reading, and writing).
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.
