Underground Cable Technician

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team to conduct underground construction or maintenance activities, including the installation or removal of underground distribution cables and related equipment.
- Perform splicing on underground cables rated for voltages ranging from 4Kv to 69Kv.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, state regulations, and all safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Report any issues or safety risks to the foreman or designated crew leader.
- Assist in site preparation and organization of tools and equipment necessary for splicing tasks.
- Support Journeyman and Apprentice electricians with various electrical assignments.
- Maintain and care for all tools and equipment utilized in daily operations.
- May assist the Foreman with additional tasks while on-site.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Dispatch, Superintendents, or Foremen.
Physical Requirements:
Heavy Work:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects, including the handling of ramps multiple times throughout the day.
Work Environment:
Moderate Exposure:
Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.) and outdoor elements (cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.).
Work in a loud noise environment.
Compensation Range: $30 - $35 per hour
