Key Responsibilities- Installation: Responsible for the installation of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Data Equipment Setup: Involves the setup of data equipment, including racks, patch panels, and cable trays, with a comprehensive understanding of Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF), Main Distribution Frames (MDF), and Data Center configurations.
- Testing: Utilize specialized testing equipment to verify the integrity of installed cables.
- Tool Operation: Operate a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scissor lifts, as well as cabling test equipment.
- Termination and Troubleshooting: Perform the termination and testing of new cabling, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Rack Installation: Build and install racks, organize and terminate closets, and conduct tests to ensure proper functionality.
- Work Environment: Capable of working at heights above ceilings and in confined spaces.
- Blueprint Review: Ability to interpret floor plans, line diagrams, and rack elevations to facilitate successful installations.
- Site Maintenance: Ensure that each job site is left clean and organized at the end of each workday, with thorough checks upon project completion.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, with the ability to work collaboratively or independently.
