ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:
- Administer direct nursing care to patients who are anesthetized during the immediate recovery phase.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques in accordance with the standards set by the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses and the American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses.
- Assess and evaluate patient responses to medical treatments and interventions.
- Effectively manage and alleviate patient pain.
- Anticipate specific needs based on an understanding of the procedures performed and the underlying medical conditions.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer is required. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire or transfer is required. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing must be obtained prior to hire or transfer.
Educational Requirements:
- A diploma from an accredited nursing school or college is required, or appropriate professional licensure at the time of hire.
