Job Summary



We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Technician to join our team at TransChicago Truck Group. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our fleet vehicles.



Main Responsibilities




  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle condition and identify areas for repair;
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements;
  • Diagnose and repair complex problems with powertrains, electrical systems, and other critical vehicle components;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete projects and meet deadlines;
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques through ongoing training and education.


Requirements




  • 7+ years of experience in heavy duty vehicle maintenance and repair;
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other critical vehicle systems;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills;
  • Certifications for Detroit, Cummins, Freightliner, or Total Truck Care are highly preferred.
