Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrician's Mate Contractor Instructor to provide operational and curriculum support, administration, safety, and management for formalized naval training.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare Classrooms: Set up classrooms, workstations, and labs prior to instruction.
  • Perform Operational Checks: Ensure all equipment is functional and ready for use.
  • Maintain Equipment: Identify and address deficiencies in training equipment.
  • Manage Inventory: Maintain an adequate inventory of instructional materials.
  • Report Discrepancies: Document and report any issues that may hinder teaching.
Requirements:

A former Navy Senior (E5 – E9) Surface Ship Engineer with the following qualifications:

  • Tier I (Master Level): An Electrician's Mate AND a graduate of Air Cooled Frequency Converter, Maintenance (A-652-0241), Electrician's Mate Surface Ship Electrical Advanced Maintenance (A-662-0017), or SSM Automated Degaussing (A-690-0022).
  • Tier II (Journeyman Level): One of the following ratings: Electrician's Mate (EM), Gas Turbine System Technician Electrical (GSE), Interior Communications Electrician (IC), AND a graduate of two out of three courses: Air Cooled Frequency Converter, Maintenance (A-652-0241), Electrician's Mate Surface Ship Electrical Advanced Maintenance (A-662-0017), or SSM Automated Degaussing (A-690-0022).

Instructor qualifications include graduation from the Navy Instructor Training Course (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502) or an equivalent instructor training course, minimum three years of technical experience in the subject matter, and minimum two years of experience in a military training environment.
