About the Role
Ferguson Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch care to our furry patients.

**Job Summary**
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who can work effectively as part of a dynamic team. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, administering medications, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will also be responsible for educating pet owners on animal care and health conditions, as well as preparing samples for laboratory analysis.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including surgeries and diagnostic tests
- Administer medications to animals, ensuring proper dosage and administration instructions
- Maintain accurate and updated medical records, both digital and physical
- Educate pet owners on animal care, health conditions, and post-operative care instructions
- Prepare samples for laboratory analysis, including blood work, urine analysis, and X-rays
- Safely and gently restrain animals during procedures and exams to ensure safety for both the animal and the veterinary team

**Requirements**
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Veterinary experience preferred but not required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to walk, stand, and bend for sustained periods
- Ability to use hands and arms to handle and position animals, materials, equipment
