Position Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist is tasked with delivering targeted therapy to students who qualify for special education services due to speech or language impairments. You will work closely with students in both individual and small group settings, conducting sessions that are tailored to their specific goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' speech and language needs, collaborating with educators and parents to understand their strengths and challenges.
  • Develop and propose Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, working with interdisciplinary teams to ensure students achieve their objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare reports in accordance with district requirements.
  • Support the use of both high-tech and low-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
  • Engage in monthly discussions regarding caseload management with the Clinical Director.
  • Provide screenings to identify students who may require further speech and language interventions.
  • Offer guidance to teachers in recognizing and referring students with potential speech and language difficulties.
  • Facilitate communication with families to provide insights and support regarding their child's therapy needs.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid and unrestricted SLP license in the state of practice.
  • Compliance with state-specific requirements, including certifications and background checks.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

As a participant in Medicare and Medicaid programs, adherence to health-related requirements, including vaccinations, is mandatory, with allowances for medical or religious exemptions.
