Shift Details: Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, working 12-hour shifts, totaling 36 hours weekly.
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Position requires 4 weekend shifts per month, with some holidays included in the schedule.
Qualifications:
- Valid California nursing license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in CVPICU
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Documentation System utilized: Cerner
- Potential to float to other ICU units prior to being assigned to the floor
- Candidates with less than 2 years of experience may not be considered, but strong candidates with 2 years may be evaluated
- Floating Requirement: Yes, starting with PICU or NICU, may also include Pediatric Medical/Surgical Oncology floor
Shift Pattern: 3 shifts of 12 hours in the PM
First-time travelers are not accepted; however, candidates with 2 years of robust experience may be reviewed
Experience Requirement: 2 years in CVPICU
Floating Requirement: Yes, beginning with PICU or NICU, may include Pediatric Medical/Surgical Oncology floor
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (4 shifts per month)
On-call Requirement: No
Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
Scheduling Type: Self-scheduling
Time Off Restrictions: One request; pre-approved time off is subject to manager's discretion
Documentation System: Cerner
Unit Details:
Patient population is highly variable, primarily surgical, with a significant number of pediatric patients. Acuity levels vary widely.
ECMO support is available with dedicated technicians managing the equipment.
Invasive procedures such as chest tube placements and cardioversions are performed at the bedside.
No floating to Emergency Department or Mental Health units.
Additional Notes:
4 weekend shifts per month; some holidays are part of the regular schedule.
Floating to other ICU units is expected before being assigned to the floor.
COVID-19 vaccination is required, including booster, with exemptions only for medical or religious reasons.
Flu vaccination status is currently unknown.
