Environmental Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist to join our team in New York. As a key member of our ecological sciences practice, you will be responsible for supporting our growing team on a wide range of public and private projects.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will have experience in wetland delineation and assessment, regulatory permitting, and project site inspections. You will work closely with our team to prepare technical reports and federal and state environmental permit applications. Your strong communication skills and ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously will be essential in this role.
Responsibilities:- Conduct wetland delineations, vernal pool surveys, rare species surveys, wildlife habitat assessments, and function and values assessments.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports and federal and state environmental permit applications.
- Perform project site inspections, construction oversight, and regulatory compliance evaluations.
- 4-8 years of experience in environmental management, regulatory compliance, environmental consulting, or a related field.
- BS degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Wetland Ecology, Wildlife Biology, or a closely related natural resource science degree.
- Understanding of federal, New York State, and local environmental statutes and regulations.
- Superior writing and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Registration as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or In Training (PWIT) by the Society of Wetland Scientists.
- Certification as a Certified Wildlife Biologist by The Wildlife Society.
