Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Animal Medical Support Technician to join our team at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island. As an Animal Medical Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to in-patient and adoption center animals under the direction of a senior veterinarian.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality medical care to in-patient and adoption center animals under the direction of a senior veterinarian
• Assist in surgery at the discretion of the veterinary doctor
• Maintain cleanliness in the kennel, prep room and surgery areas; stocking as needed
• Controlled drug log recording
• Inventory management
• Client communication and education
• Basic understanding or the ability to learn veterinary software programs
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, including cleaning, sterilizing and packing of surgical instruments, drapes and gowns
• Ability to restrain animals of all sizes; work with blood and feces, and exposure to X-Rays

Qualifications:
NYS license required. Eligibility for licensing accepted.
General knowledge of instruments and supplies.
