Unit Specific Information
  • Punctuality is crucial; report starts promptly
  • A positive attitude is essential; negativity is not tolerated
  • Willingness to float to other units with a positive demeanor is required
  • Hourly patient rounding is conducted using the SAFETY Round acronym
  • Bedside report is conducted at shift changes, involving patients and families
  • Lunch breaks must be taken on hospital premises
  • This is a smoke-free campus
  • Awards: Recognized as a Unit of Distinction honorable mention for two consecutive years
Additional Details
  • Bed Capacity: 8 beds
  • Staffing: 12 staff members
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1, occasionally 3:1
  • Equipment: GE monitors, Pyxis medication administration, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Puritan Bennett Vents
  • EMR: Meditech with assessments every 4 hours, notes every 2 hours, and vital signs every hour
  • Preferred Skills: Willingness to assist in other units and PALS certification
  • Typical Procedures: Intubation, CVP monitoring, arterial line monitoring, ETOH and opioid detox
  • Ideal Candidate: Compassionate, accountable, and enjoys working in a small rural hospital
  • Dress Code: Navy scrubs, no patterns allowed
