Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Physician Therapist Specialist to join our team at Luminis Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in evaluating patients and providing therapeutic interventions.

Evaluation and Treatment

You will conduct thorough evaluations and provide tailored treatments using various techniques to promote optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing the appropriateness and effectiveness of services provided.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement treatment plans that cater to individual patient needs, ensuring seamless communication with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives to improve patient care, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices.
  • Cross-cover by evaluating and treating patients across various units, leveraging your skills and adaptability to deliver exceptional care.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance productivity and efficiency, meeting departmental standards while promoting quality patient care.
  • Engage in quality and patient safety initiatives, demonstrating unwavering commitment to excellent customer service and following ICARE principles.
  • Conduct in-services for AAMC-funded continuing education courses, fostering growth and development within the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to Physical Therapist Assistants, Physical Therapy Aides, students, and volunteers, mentoring them in best practices and empowering them to excel in their roles.
  • Consult with physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to increase knowledge of physical therapy, identifying opportunities to enhance patient care and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Serve as a supervisor in the absence of the Physical Therapy Supervisor, assuming responsibility for leading the team and driving excellence.

Educational Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy, with acute care or related experience preferred but not required. New graduates will be considered based on current departmental staffing.

Licensure and Certification

  • Hold a current license in Physical Therapy from the Board of Physical Therapy Examiners of Maryland.
  • Be certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR.

Working Conditions and Equipment

This role involves exposure to blood-borne pathogens, requiring employees to exercise caution and adhere to standard precautions. The physical demands of this position are heavy, involving lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
