Maintenance Technician Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of apartment homes, buildings, and grounds. This includes performing diversified duties such as repairing flooring, drywall, and appliances, as well as troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, safety, and security systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance and repair principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest level of service to our residents and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work
  • Assist with unit turnovers, including cleaning and preparing vacant apartments for new residents
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the maintenance shop and storage rooms
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and clients, responding to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience in a maintenance or repair role
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school and/or certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to wear a respirator and meet medical fitness requirements
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Google Drive and Gmail
