Position: Special Education Intervention Specialist

Location: Colorado Springs, CO – Onsite

  • Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 annually, full-time exempt

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate the unique needs of students and maintain detailed behavioral records
  • Work collaboratively with parents, educators, and stakeholders to create tailored learning plans
  • Conduct consultations to address educational, behavioral, and social requirements
  • Oversee student activities and provide necessary guidance
  • Document lesson plans and monitor student performance
  • Advise school staff on the care and support of students with special needs
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and policies
  • Stay informed on regulatory updates and implement necessary changes
  • Coordinate the IEP process for all students
  • Facilitate IEP team meetings, including eligibility and evaluation discussions
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate updates and documentation for IEPs
  • Assist special educators in developing and implementing IEPs with appropriate accommodations
  • Manage the school's special education programs and services
  • Review initial referrals with the Director of Special Education for placement appropriateness
  • Develop and implement policies while evaluating special education programs and services
  • Act as a resource for special education programs and services
  • Maintain records of lesson plans and student performance
  • Occasionally travel locally and regionally for meetings with districts and stakeholders

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to navigate stairs
  • Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Frequent local travel required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • CDE License in Special Education Generalist
  • CDE Teaching License
  • Experience working with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and physical examination; valid driver's license required
