Medical Laboratory Specialist

Job Overview: As a Medical Technologist with KA Recruiting Inc., you will play a vital role in performing various technical and general duties at a basic skills and knowledge level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and specialized testing and procedures under supervision, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Perform quality control and instrument check procedures, maintaining related records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify and classify microorganisms found in bodily fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, autopsy, and surgical specimens, providing critical data for infectious disease diagnosis and treatment.
- May group or type blood of donors and recipients, determining compatibility and ensuring safe transfusions.
- Perform chemical and/or immunological tests to identify and/or quantitate substances found in blood and other body fluids.
- Examine and describe the morphology of blood and other body fluid cells, performing specialized studies as needed.
- Cut, stain, and mount human tissue specimens, performing special stains and/or immunohistochemical testing as directed by pathologists.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related science.
- Certified as a Medical Technologist or equivalent, with a valid license if required.
- Completion of student clinical rotations.
