About the Role:

This position is located at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital (CRBH) in Lexington, VA.

As an LPN Inpatient, you will practice practical nursing within the parameters set forth in Carilion Clinic's Plans for the Provision of Patient Care and function under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.

You will partner with the RN in collecting data, planning, implementing and evaluating patient/resident care.

Additionally, you will demonstrate knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients/residents served.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the nursing process for patients of all ages served.
  • Contribute to the development of the patient/resident database and interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Identify patient/resident/family/caregiver educational needs, incorporate into the plan of care, implement, and document.
  • Apply knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients/residents.
  • Implement prescribed therapeutic treatment plan and procedures.
  • Administer prescribed medication to patients/residents.
  • Demonstrate the role of patient advocate, protector of patient's rights, and provider of psychological/social/cultural support.
  • Contribute to Carilion's performance improvement activities and demonstrate support of service area/facility/organization initiatives.
  • Contribute to the orientation and career development of others.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Virginia.
  • Must obtain/maintain AHA BLS-HCP.
  • In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward.
