Position Overview

The CT Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires proficiency in performing computed tomography (CT) scans while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS, AART, AART advanced certification
  • Additional Certifications: ACLS and PALS may be required for specific units.
  • Compliance: Acknowledgment of HIPAA safety manual.
  • Continuing Education: Stroke and Trauma CEUs documentation.
  • Competency Assessments: Medication and competency exams.
  • Licensing Verification: State license and Nursys verification as applicable.
Job Responsibilities
  • Specialty Areas: Focus on Radiology and Cardiology.
  • Conduct CT scan procedures utilizing established techniques.
  • Review requisitions, adjust equipment settings, and select appropriate exposure techniques.
  • Employ standard positioning methods to achieve optimal diagnostic images.
  • Determine protocols for CT scans to ensure accurate density and contrast levels.
  • Perform organ scanning to identify pathological conditions.
  • Complete examinations promptly while managing IV and oral contrast administration.
  • Document procedures accurately and integrate data into the Cerner system.
  • Experience with GE and Siemens scanner equipment is essential.
  • Expertise in various scanning techniques, including brain perfusion, CT angiograms, and reconstructions.
  • Preferred experience in specialized procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, and transplant studies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience; first-time travelers are considered.
  • Must possess a valid MD License.
  • Required experience in abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, and spine procedures.
Work Schedule
  • Day shift availability.
  • Working days include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

  • Compliance with accounting document requirements.
  • Identification documentation is necessary.
  • Completion of documentation, consents, and emergency contact forms.
  • Background checks and medical attestations are required.
  • Drug testing must be completed within one year of employment.
