Key Responsibilities

The Role

The Safety and Security Officer is an integral member of the Facilities Team, dedicated to maintaining the safety and security of our senior living community.

Core Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Ensures a prominent presence to reassure residents and deter potential intruders, fostering a secure environment.
  • Utilizes wireless communication devices to maintain contact between the Security Officer and the administrative office.
  • Monitors surveillance feeds to oversee community activities.
  • Conducts regular patrols of hallways, buildings, and parking areas to ensure adequate lighting and that resident vehicles are secured.
  • Secures all entry points by ensuring doors are locked at designated times.
  • Responds promptly to resident and staff needs, providing assistance as required.
  • Follows established safety protocols and maintains an updated list of emergency contacts.
  • Records the comings and goings of residents after hours for security purposes.
  • Handles incoming calls during off-hours with professionalism.
  • Upholds the confidentiality of resident and community information.
  • In emergencies, provides support to local emergency services as necessary.
  • Engages in customer service, prioritizing resident safety and effective communication.
Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of State and Company background checks and drug screenings is required.
  • Exhibits strong time management abilities.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent educational background is preferred, along with relevant security experience.
  • Familiarity with legal standards applicable to security personnel is essential.
  • Ability to make sound judgments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Prior experience in a security role is advantageous, with knowledge of relevant legal requirements.
  • Capable of remaining calm and composed in high-pressure or unexpected situations.
