To be considered for this position, you must meet the minimum requirements listed below. Travelers with expiring licenses and/or certifications will automatically be declined.
Only submit applications from travelers who have a minimum of two years of cardiac, thoracic, and cardiovascular experience, including heart and lung transplant experience. Ensure that the detail of this experience is noted in the resume.
The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery, promotes the safety of the patient during surgery, provides assistance to the surgeon during surgery, cares for the patient during surgery, and cares for the instruments and supplies used in surgery.
The Surgical Technologist functions to promote the safety of the patient as a member of the surgical team.
The incumbent possesses knowledge and skills required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
Minimum Requirements:
Facility Requirement:
Travelers must have a permanent address outside of a 50-mile radius of Madison. The permanent address must be included in the traveler's profile.
Experience:
Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience is required. Strong cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience, including heart and lung, is highly preferred. Ortho trauma, eye, ENT, and neuro experience is also helpful. Detail of this experience must be included in the resume.
Travelers must have experience in an Academic Level - Trauma center or similar size hospital. Prior traveler experience is highly preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
BLS must be certified through the American Heart Association ONLY.
Education:
Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years' experience in a Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of program.
References:
Two completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only from work performed in the last two years) are required.
