Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our neuro step-down unit team at Orlando Health. As a registered nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care based on patient responses and needs.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward expected outcomes and make adjustments to care plans as necessary.
  • Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
  • Function as a patient and family advocate, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to effectively plan and manage patient care.
  • Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician, providing guidance and support to new team members and students.
  • Document patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner, meeting all required and regulatory standards.
  • Prioritize patient care in an ongoing manner, adhering to Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
  • Practice effective problem identification and resolution, delegating tasks and duties to healthcare team members as appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department.
  • Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit (NICU).
