About the Role

This position reports to a Principal Software Engineer on the Digital Platform Team in the IT Organization. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working on Parametric's client-facing websites and our customer experience. You will work collaboratively with the broader Digital Team and Parametric business partners to prioritize epic and feature development and execute on both strategic and tactical product enhancements. You will work primarily with JavaScript and CSS frameworks and our CMS infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities
  • You will own and oversee the development, maintenance, and evolution of the web component library.
  • You will work closely with the UX team to ensure the component library is integrated with the Parametric design system, including design tokens, typography, and brand color schemes.
  • You will collaborate with business partners, designers, and developers to gather feedback, identify common needs, and ensure the component library meets the needs of various websites.
  • You will create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the component library, including usage guidelines, best practices, and examples to ensure consistency and ease of use across teams.
  • You will ensure components meet quality standards, including accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • You will establish governance processes for the contribution to and adoption of the component library, including versioning and release strategies to manage changes and dependencies effectively.
  • You will implement product features for public websites with a focus on quality and customer experience.
  • You will create unit/integration/functional tests.
  • You will build and maintain well-documented, scalable, flexible, accessible, and reusable UI components.
  • You will follow our development process and guidelines.
  • You will keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in component library development to continually innovate and improve the library.
Requirements
  • You should have 5+ years of front-end web development experience using Angular (or similar modern front-end technology).
  • You should be proficient in creating reusable and modular UI components using component libraries such as Storybook (Ladle, Bit, or Pattern Lab) that seamlessly integrate with various websites.
  • You should have 2+ years hands-on experience in building and maintaining component libraries; keeping the library up to date while adapting to new business requirements.
  • You should have 2+ years of experience in developing UI conforming to the WCAG accessibility standards.
  • You should have a good understanding of web accessibility concepts and best practices.
  • You should have hands-on experience in writing UI tests such as visual testing, cross-browser testing, and interaction testing on component libraries.
  • You should have a strong understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
  • You should be familiar with design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
  • You should have education/basic training related to web development.
  • You should have experience with source control systems like GitHub.
  • You should be aware of Agile development processes such as Kanban or Scrum.
  • You should be comfortable in a highly collaborative environment.
  • You should have effective communication skills.
  • You should be aware of web testing frameworks and practices.
  • You should be aware of CI/CD tooling.
  • Candidates should have experience, training, or basic familiarity with the following languages and frameworks:
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • JavaScript
    • Angular
    Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 - $225,000 per year.
