We are seeking a skilled Railroad Track Maintenance Specialist to join our team at OmniTRAX. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railroad tracks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and repair railroad tracks on a specified territory of railroad
  • Safely operate spike pullers and spike drivers to remove old spikes, drive new spikes, and perform related maintenance to railroad tracks
  • Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operation, and the Federal Railroad Association (FRA)
  • Work safely in a construction/field environment following safety rules and carrying out work in a manner that promotes a safe work environment
  • Operate track jack to facilitate removal and installation of railroad ties
  • Drill holes with power drill through rails for bolt insertion
  • Operate track-wrench machine to tighten and/or loosen bolts at rail joints
  • Operate rail saw to cut rails into specified lengths
  • Drive company vehicles
  • Perform CDL work to meet qualifications of the FMCSA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Subpart B: Qualification and Disqualification of Drivers and other regulations as applicable

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older; High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Valid State Drivers License and pass DOT medical certification and Drivers Qualification File
  • Pass DOT Drug & Alcohol testing; prefer a Class A CDL
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees and business associates in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills resulting in effective resolution

Work Environment:

Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather, including snow, rain, heat, and sub-freezing temperatures.
